About Chara

Chara CampanellaI grew up in Boston where I wore scarves, biked recklessly, and captained ferryboats on the weekends.  Now I live in Los Angeles where I write cartoons, curse reckless bikers, and only see boats on CSI Miami.

I adore both cities equally.

Before becoming a writer, I was a reality show producer.  Both fit the criteria of damn good jobs because neither one feels much like work.  For that matter, captaining ferry boats was a pretty good deal as well.

I have two cool kids, two funny-looking dogs, a hilarious husband and a cockatiel.  The cockatiel is big fun, but so far has refused to repeat, You’re a genius.

I have high hopes for my better self.  She runs marathons and whatnot.  My regular self kicks around the suburbs, writes jokes and hangs out with the kids.

Regular Self, meet Better Self.  I’m sure you two will get along swimmingly.
